The wildfires in San Gabriel mountains CA. today is in my back yard. We are next to be evacuated if the
wind shift. My hat off to the firemen and it was a 109degree today.
But I was thinking, JW's sitting around in a camp fire singing kingdom songs in Paradise and a ember
from the fire starts a fire and it's out of control. So, who puts the fire out?
What will the all knowing JW say.
A) Jehovah will bring a storm to extinguish the fire.
B) or maybe the animals may extinguish the fire , if Jehovah can make a ass speak then it's no
big deal to gather all the animals to piss on the fire.
But what would be their response???
Without the firemen battling that fire today many of the homes in my area would have
been lost.
Duarte is the city next to us, so it's close.

i know that some people on the board have experience of being mormons, so i would be interested in your feedback.

at church this afternoon it was an uncanny experience.

in the past i've read a lot about mormons, so i thought i was prepared in general for what it would be like.

The biggest difference between Mormons and JW, Mormons are very generous with
time and money in the communities. Researchers found that active members of
the LDS church volunteer and donate significantly more than the average American
when it comes to the time they spend volunteering to help others outside of the LDS
community.

My daughter-in law is a Mormon. Son raised a JW and married a Mormon, but they
are happy. She is a sweet young lady and I love her.

i'm wondering why believers remain members of this forum which is clearly hostile to believers.

as one member said, nonbelievers pounce on any semblance of belief like piranhas on prey.

as former jws we should have had our fill of judgmental know-it-alls, but here we are.

Help me to understand the Bible, and OH boy how it help me in my critical thinking.
The subjects that are covered here, from the first book of the Bible to the last. How
many people thought about the distance to the promise land that took 40 years(less then 400 miles),
the little boat (ark),why a talking snake and not a parrot. You folks are the only ones I can come too
and get answers on the Bible.

I'am thinking about attending my brother KH just to show him shunning don't work for
everyone.....One time only no way will I ever go back. What do you think, bad idea????
The last time I was in a KH 1988.

i heard today about a former jw/now apostate who is dying in hospital.

this information was accompanied by the comment of "wouldn't be awful to be lying there in hospital,dying as an apostate!

knowing that you have no hope!?

I have no problems dying as a JW apostate....I'am 100% sure they are not Jehovahs earthly
organization and if they are, leave me in my grave.

Father's Day is tomorrow (in the US). Why is it wrong?

i did an examination of the one single article ever to address father's day since it's tomorrow here in the us.

the article covers both mother's day and father's day.

hope it's informative.. examination of “mother and father worship unscriptural”, the only article ever to address father’s day in any publication printed by the watchtower bible and tract society.

You think too much honor is given to the GB????I remember praying, Jehovah watch over the brothers
that is taking the lead, give them extra portion of your Holy Spirit.
CO visiting the congregation, how many gifts they receive by the RF for their hard work. So raising a
family is not hard work??? My sons and grandson call and told me they are taking me out for dinner, just
the guys. I'am so happy I made the decision to walk away from the organization and my sons followed me.
If you want to take any fun out of your life become a JW.....

People named after Jesus ? / people named after Jehovah /Yahweh ?

in catholic dominated countries many people are named after the messiah jesus , are their any that are named after his god jehovah / or yahweh ?

anywhere in the world ?.

i have only come across one , in america of all places.. his name was yahweh ben yahweh , and i don`t think he would be used as an example by the wt society.. google him.. has their been anybody else ?

I have a good friend named Jesus from Mexico but never met someone named Jehovah.
I guess it's better for some one to be named Jesus then Adolf Hitler. Just recently there
was program on people that was named Hitler. One guy from South America his father named him
Hitler , he moved to America and that's when he found out about the person behind the name.
The one guy who named his son A. Hitler the state took his son away, he was a skin head.
